An Elder Abuse Restraining Order can be obtained if the victim is 65 years old or older and is a victim of physical or financial abuse, neglect or abandonment, has been physically or mentally hurt, or has been deprived of caregiving or basic physical, mental or emotional needs. California law defines “elder” as anyone 65 years or older.
