Gun Violence Restraining Orders may be issued by a San Diego County court after a hearing is held and the respondent has an opportunity to be heard at the hearing and object or consent to the order. This hearing is held within 21 days of the temporary restraining order date. If the court grants the order after the hearing, the Gun Violence Restraining Order may last between 1 to 5 years and subject to termination or renewal by further court hearings.
